There's nothing more frustrating than opening your business inbox each morning & seeing a handful (or more) warning messages, supposedly from Meta through a users profile, claiming that you page is just minutes away from being shut down for violating Meta's Community Guidelines or trademark rights.

So how do you stop these messages from spooking your client or your community manager when they log in?
Follow these steps to create a custom automation for your Meta Business Suite inbox that can be applied to Facebook Messenger, Instagram or both.
Open your inbox via business.facebook.com & click on AUTOMATIONS
- you'll then see all current automations running on your inbox

On the top right side, select 'Create Automation'
Then, on the Template screen in-front of you, left side, select 'Start from Scratch'.

It will then open the creator, input the following fields / options:
1. NAME - SPAM (so you know what it is)
2. Select your channels - Messenger and/or Instagram
3. WHEN THIS HAPPENS - Choose a condition to start your automation - Select 'New message received'
4. CONDITIONS - select 'Any Condition is Met'. In the drop down for Condition 1, open the drop down & select 'Keywords'. Plug in as many of the keywords from the spam message that won't be triggered in normal messages.
5. ACTION - select Action 1 - in the drop down, select 'add label' - create or use the SPAM label you currently use (this is so you can go back in once your action is live, to check that the correct messages are being targeted / worked on).
Create a second Action & in the drop down, select 'Mark As' & a second drop down will be brought up - HOW DO YOU WANT TO MANAGE YOUR THREAD? - select from the drop down 'Move to Spam'.
6. Save
Your automation will then begin running on all new inbox messages that are received on either Facebook and/or Instagram. But remember, no automation is 100% correct the first time around, so make time in your daily community management to check the SPAM label in your inbox to make sure that no messages that shouldn't be there are flagged.
You can refine your keywords, add or remove keywords whenever new SPAM messages come through.
